Roleplay and Legal Disclaimer

Stratos documentation is written exclusively for a fictional multiplayer roleplay environment. It borrows familiar terminology from American government and public-safety systems to support consistent storytelling. It is not the law of any real jurisdiction and must not be used as legal, medical, tactical, financial, or professional advice.

Server rules always control

Published server rules and administrator safety decisions control every scene. The Penal Code and department SOPs cannot authorize conduct prohibited by community rules. Administrators may pause, alter, or end a scene to address consent, player safety, harassment, technical problems, or disruptive behavior.

In-character authority has limits

Badges, ranks, warrants, licenses, court orders, and government offices exist only inside the roleplay setting. They provide no real-world authority and must never be used to threaten, intimidate, identify, contact, or obtain information about another player outside approved server systems.

No in-character document authorizes:

• access to another person’s real accounts, devices, location, or identity;
• harassment through private messages or external platforms;
• collection or publication of personal information;
• real-world payment, punishment, or coercion;
• bypassing server moderation; or
• depiction of content prohibited by community rules.

Consent and sensitive scenes

Players must follow the server’s consent rules for medical, custodial, violent, or otherwise sensitive roleplay. Sexual violence, sexual content involving minors, graphic torture, and non-consensual intimate scenarios must not be actively depicted. Penal Code sections addressing those subjects exist for non-graphic reports, approved backstory, or court records only, subject to server rules.

Any participant may use the server’s established pause, scene-fade, or administrator-call process. A request to fade or stop sensitive content should be honored without retaliation.

Medical and emergency content

Fire and EMS procedures are simplified for storytelling. They are not medical instructions. Players should not attempt real diagnosis, treatment, rescue, fire suppression, hazardous-material handling, or emergency driving based on these documents. Real emergencies require the appropriate local emergency number and qualified professionals.

Legal and law-enforcement content

Searches, arrests, warrants, questioning, court proceedings, and sentencing are simplified for roleplay. Real constitutional and criminal law varies by jurisdiction and is substantially more complex. Nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship or advises a person how to respond to real law enforcement.

Fictional economy and punishment

Fines, custody months, license points, forfeitures, and business penalties are gameplay values. One custody month ordinarily equals one real-time minute unless server policy states otherwise. Administrators may rebalance without suggesting any real-world sentence.

Privacy and recordings

Use only information made available through authorized in-game or server systems. Do not place real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, account credentials, or other sensitive personal information in reports or public documents. Follow the server’s recording and streaming rules.

No guarantee of completeness

The documentation aims for consistent roleplay but cannot anticipate every scene. Administrators, judges, supervisors, and department leaders may resolve gaps in good faith, provided their decisions remain consistent with server rules and are not used to target a player unfairly.

Substantive interpretations that are likely to recur should be documented through an approved amendment, directive, or changelog entry.

Reporting a safety concern

Use out-of-character support channels for harassment, consent disputes, exploitation, personal-information exposure, or suspected rule violations. Do not attempt to solve those issues through an in-character arrest, lawsuit, retaliation, or public accusation.

By participating in Stratos Roleplay, players acknowledge that this material is fictional and that server rules—not real legal doctrine—govern participation.
